Overview
The largest medical simulation center in the Dubai, Khalaf Ahmed Al Habtoor Medical Simulation Center is a fully accredited medical education and training facility, equipped with hospital-grade equipment to support healthcare professionals by providing an authentic environment to practice in. Incorporating MBRU’s values, we aim to educate and improve skills in patient care by creating a patient journey from pre-admission to discharge, showcasing realistic hospital environments and a clinical skills lab, to better educate our students and the wider medical community. The Simulation Center facilities are available for hire by healthcare professionals and educators.
Purpose statement:
Driving simulation-based education and research to improve patient safety, patient care in the community, the region and beyond.

• Simulated patient Program
People from the community who are interested in contributing to the development of health care professionals may be chosen to work as Simulated Patients. These individuals are carefully recruited and trained.
• Hands Only Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation [CPR] Event
Majority of cardiac emergency survivors attribute their second chance in life due to immediate life saving measures, especially early CPR offered by bystanders. At MBRU, we train the community how to perform Hands-Only CPR – so that they can help deliver life-saving care until professional responders arrive.
Patient Journey
The Simulation Center allows for various scenarios that can follow the patient journey through a simulated hospital environment from pre-admission to discharge. This begins with the pre-hospital transfer of the patient, from the ambulance to the Emergency Department. The admission of the patient will follow from the Emergency Department to the CT Scanner or the inpatient areas of the Operating Room or Intensive Care areas. The patient would then continue on their journey to the multiple ward environments and consultation rooms, to further patient education and consultation to round off the care pathway.
