Learning and Development Manager
Purpose of this position:
The Institute of Learning at MBRU is accepting applications for the position of Learning and Development Manager.
The Learning and Development Manager is responsible for supporting DAHC’s mission and vision by providing relevant, innovative, and research-informed learning solutions for DAHC employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the learning and development for 11 000+ DAHC employees to meet both individual learning needs and organisational needs
- Develop a vision and strategic plans for the Center for Learning and Development in partnership with senior leadership and relevant stakeholders
- Build relationships with key stakeholders to sustain collaboration on all L&D matters
- Assist in conducting training needs analyses for a variety of learners at DAHC
- Oversee the sourcing, design, development, and delivery of learning solutions as determined by training needs analyses. These may include onboarding, compliance training, leadership development programs etc.
- Deploy a full range of interactive and innovative learning interventions, such as mentorship programs, coaching programs, communities of practice etc.
- Manage the organization and implementation of learning programs with other team members including scheduling, managing registration through the LMS, preparing materials, preparing faculty, and conducting post-program evaluations.
- Manage the evaluation, updating and maintenance of existing learning content, as appropriate.
- Partner with fellow LMS system administrators/ edtech team members to select and maintain the learning platform, user data, course data, and reporting.
- Manage the annual performance review process for CLD team members in partnership with HR
- Teach, conduct assessments, and supervise student research projects in degree-granting programs at ieHPE
- Participate in research projects and publications at MBRU/DAHC
- Contribute, as needed, to other DAHC-wide talent initiatives.
Minimum Qualification:
- A terminal degree (PhD/EdD) in adult education, curriculum design, educational technology, educational leadership or equivalent
- Instructional design certification
- Project management certification
Desired Qualification:
- Certification in evaluating the impact of training interventions (e.g. Kirkpatrick, Philips ROI)
- Mentoring/ Coaching qualification
Experience:
- 7+ years of experience working in higher education and/or health professions education
- 3+ years of experience leading multinational teams in higher education and/or health professions education, preferably in the GCC region
- A proven track record of designing engaging F2F and online learning solutions for adult learners, including self-paced online courses, facilitated courses, performance support, mentorship programs, etc.
- Using a variety of digital content development tools, e.g. Articulate, Camtasia, Canva, Padlet, H5P, as well as LMS platforms (e.g. Blackboard, Canvas, D2L etc.)
- Strong facilitation skills in both online and face-to-face environments
- Knowledge of a variety of learning design and learning and development frameworks including 70:20:10, 5 Moments of Need, SAM, Agile, etc.
