The Diabetes Research Group at Mohammed Bin Rashid University (MBRU) College of Medicine has an opening for a young IT graduate to participate in investigation of Type 2 Diabetes subtypes. We are looking for a highly motivated graduate with an experience in bioinformatics and analysis of human genomes. He/She will be working with science and medical staff at MBRU and Dubai Academic Health Corporation. Our group has a strong commitment to collaborative research, which combines clinical investigations with computational validation. Appointment is for one year, renewable for a second year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth analysis of human genome sequence data using cutting-edge bioinformatics tools and software.
• Collaborate with the research team to interpret and present findings.
• Assist in the development and implementation of data analysis pipelines.
• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to research publications.

Qualifications and Experience:

• BSc in Information Technology, Bioinformatics or Computational biology.
• Master’s degree in bioinformatics [preferred].
• Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, R, Bash).
• Strong knowledge of bioinformatics tools, software, and databases.
• Knowledge of population genomics, GWAS, ACMG guidelines for variant annotation & classification.
• Strong knowledge of ML/AI tools for genomics.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis (SPSS, Graphpad) and data visualization techniques
• Novel algorithms and machine learning methods.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities within a multidisciplinary team.
• Written and spoken English [Arabic preferred].
