The MBRU Design Lab has partnered with experts from different fields to complement its portfolio of skills. It notably includes the Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation as well as the Computer Science and Engineering of the American University of Sharjah with which the Design Lab organizes bootcamps and works on different innovation projects, and also Mediclinic Middle East where the Design Lab evaluates its prototypes and also where it conducts innovation projects.

In addition to this, the MBRU Design Lab works closely with university-wide initiative such as the Pulse Days during which potential future medical students are introduced to health innovation, and the MBRU Medical Education Symposium. The Design Lab also collaborates with international entities such as the UK-based Clinical Engineering Hub for faculty and student exchange.
