WorldCat Discovery now Available at Al Maktoum Medical Library
Al Maktoum Medical Library is pleased to introduce our new discovery tool WorldCat Discovery. WorldCat Discovery helps users easily find and get resources from our library and in libraries worldwide through a single search of WorldCat and familiar, authoritative e-content collections. It also connects users to our collections via the popular websites where people typically start their research.

WorldCat Discovery helps our library have a greater impact. Smarter searching with easy access to local and global resources in all kinds of formats. WorldCat Discovery goes beyond the search results to the breakthroughs. Connect people to the resources they identify, whether they access the full text electronically, get a print copy in our library, request items through interlibrary loan, or buy items from a content provider.
It enables simultaneous searching across formats and collections instead of consulting multiple services and interfaces. A single search box retrieves results from WorldCat and a central index of 3,150 e-content collections. Task-based relevance algorithms and sort options work together to deliver a flexible user experience that lets searchers select the tool that matches their specific needs. Search boxes with pre-set filters save time for users by limiting search results by format, date, location, and other qualifiers.
