Scholarship Programs
MBRU encourages all top performing students to apply and begin their educational journey with us. We acknowledge that sometimes you may need financial support to pursue your dreams. In keeping with our value of giving, we have established scholarship programs as of the academic year of 2017/2018.
College of Medicine
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery Scholarship Programs
Future Doctors Program
Stemming from the University’s commitment to support the admission of qualified applicants and to maintain academic excellence, the University offers a merit-based scholarship program, the Future Doctors Scholarship, to Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) students.
New Students
- 5 scholarships will be awarded to the top 5 ranked MBBS applicants. The eligible applicants will be offered up to a 30% scholarship on their annual tuition fees.
- This scholarship is applicable for one academic year only.
- This scholarship is determined on an annual basis.
- No application process is required.
- The scholarship offers will be announced alongside the conditional offers from April 14, 2024 onwards.
Continuing students
- Scholarships will be awarded to students with an annual GPA of 3.8 or above. The eligible students will be offered up to a 30% scholarship on their annual tuition fees.
- This scholarship is applicable for one academic year only.
- This scholarship is determined on an annual basis.
- No application process is required.
- The scholarship offers will be announced on two dates and this is based on the end-of-the-year results. The two dates are:
- Phase one and two: 2nd week of June
- Phase three: 2nd week of July
Jood Scholarship Program
- Stemming from the University’s commitment to support the admission of qualified applicants and to support students with verified financial needs, the University offers a needs-based scholarship program, the Jood Scholarship, to Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) students.
- Students with verified financial needs in the MBBS program can receive up to a 50% scholarship on their annual tuition fees, provided their annual GPA is above the minimum GPA of progression.
- Applicable only for UAE residents.
New Students
Please note that it is a requirement for new students to accept the conditional offer and pay the seat reservation fee to be qualified to apply for the Jood Scholarship. The online application form will open on April 1, 2024, and close on April 30, 2024. Click here to apply.
The scholarship will be announced on the second week of June 2024.
Continuing students
It is applicable for all continuing students to apply for the Jood Scholarship. The online application will open on April 1, 2024, and close on April 30, 2024. Click here to apply.
Scholarship announcement:
- Phase 1 and phase 2 students: Second week of June 2024.
- Phase 3 students: Second week of July 2024.
Jood Scholarship Required Documents:
- Copy of the full family book for UAE nationals, and valid passport or Emirates ID copy of all family members for non-UAE nationals
- Original salary certificate of guardians (father & mother, if working) stating clearly gross salary including all allowances and/or benefits such as education, housing, transportation, bonus, etc.
- Copy of the bank statement for the last six months
- Original certificate of liabilities from the bank
- Copy of the lease contract, if applicable
- Certificates verifying education tuition fees for all family members, if applicable
- Death/divorce certificates of guardian if applicable.
- Any other documents that would support the financial status of the family
If the guardian is self-employed, the following documents are required:
- Audited profit and loss financial statement for the last two years
- Original Statement of Shareholders current account
- A copy of the trade license
Guiding Rules for MBBS Scholarships:
- Students cannot combine more than one MBRU provided scholarship. If the student qualifies for more than one, the highest scholarship will apply.
- Students continuing to receive the above scholarships are subject to the scholarship terms and conditions issued by the University’s administration.
Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences
- MBRU Scholarship
MBRU offers a 50% scholarship for all Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences students.
PhD of Science in Biomedical Sciences
- MBRU Scholarship
MBRU offers a 100% scholarship for a limited number of students in the Ph.D. of Science in Biomedical Sciences.
Hamdan Bin Mohammed College of Dental Medicine
Hamdan Bin Mohammed College of Dental Medicine Scholarship Program
Jood Scholarship Program
- Stemming from the University’s commitment to support the admission of qualified applicants and to support students with verified financial needs, the University offers a needs-based scholarship program, the Jood Scholarship, to Hamdan bin Mohammed College of Dental Medicine (HBMCDM) students.
- Students with verified financial needs in the HBMCDM program can receive up to a 50% scholarship on their annual tuition fees, provided their annual GPA is above the minimum GPA of progression.
- Applicable only for UAE residents.
- Jood scholarship is applicable for HBMCDM continuing students with monthly income below AED 20,000. This discount is not applicable for new students. The online application will open on April 1, 2024, and close on April 30, 2024. Click here to apply.
Jood Scholarship Required Documents:
- Copy valid passport or Emirates ID copy of all family members
- Original salary certificate stating clearly gross salary including all allowances and/or benefits such as education, housing, transportation, bonus, etc.
- Copy of the bank statement for the last six months

Guiding Rules for HBMCDM Scholarships
- Students are usually informed about their scholarship status by the end of June.
- Students continuing to receive the above scholarship are subject to the scholarship terms and conditions issued by the University’s administration.

College of Nursing and Midwifery Scholarship Program
Frontliners Scholarship
- In line with the National Strategy for Nursing and Midwifery – Roadmap for 2025 and to encourage more citizens to pursue specialist nursing, MBRU is pleased to offer the Frontliners Scholarship.
- MBRU covers 50% of tuition fees toward our two postgraduate nursing programs – Masters in Cardiovascular Nursing and the Masters in Pediatric Nursing for all intake.
- The scholarship is available to all nationalities.

MBRU Discount Options | |

Siblings Discount | Families that have more than one daughter/son enrolled at MBRU will be eligible to receive a discount of 10% on the annual tuition fees. The discount(s) is applicable to the second, third, fourth sibling etc. |
Martyr’s Discount | To honor the nation’s heroes, children of the UAE’s army martyrs will receive a discount of 15% on the annual tuition fees. |
Employee Discount | 5% discount on annual fees are offered to the children of MBRU employees. |

Applications for Jood Scholarship are done via an online application form which is available on the scholarship page of the website.
- NOTE: It is a requirement for new students to pay the seat reservation fee to be eligible to apply for Jood Scholarship.
There is no application required for Future Doctors Scholarship. If you are eligible for Future Doctors scholarship, the Scholarship Office will inform you at the beginning of the academic year.
- New students: eligibility will be based on admission ranking.
- Continuing students: eligibility will be based on annual GPA.
